I could ask loads of questions about Red Rum, but here's just a couple for starters: Did he have a pair of whorls on his face, rather than the more usual single one - it's difficult to tell from most of the pics I've seen. Also, I know he didn't have any white socks, but on one pic it looked like he had some grey on the outside of a hindleg fetlock??

Hi Vicki welcome to the forums, sorry about the delay in getting back to you, I've been a bit busy Rolling Eyes

Red had the usual whorl that horses have and also one under his forelock.

Red didn't have socks but as he got older he started getting greys hairs on his legs which became quite prominent.

Be careful when buying pictures of Red Rum especially on ebay, as there are a lot of sellers selling pictures that are just not him, this really bugs me.

Thanks for reply. Yeah - you're not kidding about pics on ebay. There's one at the mo for "3 posters of Red Rum" - one of them has a whopping great white blaze! I did point out to them that it's clearly NOT Red so they have now changed it! Most of the pics I've got are the better ones - eg those by Clara Eve Burton
